Cultural Counselor of Iran in Addis Ababa meets two representatives from Ethiopian ministry of culture and truism in the culture center of Iran

Mr. salman Rostami cultural counselor of embassy of the Islamic republic of Iran in Ethiopia meet with, Mr.Ahmed Mohamed director general and Dr. tedla fentaw project manager of Ethiopian ministry of culture and truism on December 18, 2019 at his office. They discuss about promote and exchange social and cultural experiences of the two countries.

Mr. Rostami said in the meeting that the cultural center  has been actively promoting Iranian  culture in Ethiopia he added that the cultural center organize different cultural programs including ethio-Iran poem evening, photo  exhibition, film festival, Iranian traditional music performance, free course on Persian language and Iranology (general survey of Iran) and also the embassy organize  an intensive Persian carpet weaving training course for interested Ethiopian women’s to learn the elegant art of weaving Persian carpets. The aim of this training course is to create jobs for qualified trainer’s.

He also said this kind of activity help enhance the bilateral relation between the two countries.

And offer a variety of opportunities for both Ethiopia and Iran.

Mr.ahmed  Mohamed  appreciate  the cultural center activity  and said our relations have passed through various phases largely in response to the change in regimes in Ethiopia he add that Historical linkages between Iran  and Ethiopia go back about 2,000 years of recorded history. Trade between the two countries flourished during the ancient Axumite Empire (1st century AD)          

At the end of meeting, they agree to organize different cultural events to build stronger connection and understanding between the two nations.
